Helen Flanagan Hints at Coronation Street Comeback Seven Years After Exit

Posted on February 23, 2026

Ex-Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan may be edging closer to a Rosie Webster comeback after reuniting with her on-screen mum and sister.

Helen Flanagan has hinted at a possible return to the Cobbles after catching up with her former Coronation Street co-stars. The 35-year-old shared a selfie alongside Sally Dynevor, who played her on-screen mum Sally Webster, and Brooke Vincent, known for portraying her sister Sophie on the long-running ITV soap.

Helen famously played barmaid Rosie Webster until her departure in 2018. However, she has previously made it clear that she would be open to reprising the role in the future.

She further sparked comeback speculation when Sally and Brooke attended a performance of The Memory of Water at the Octagon Theatre in Bolton to support her. The trio happily posed for a photo together, with Helen captioning the snap: “They came. Love you both so much.”

The reunion sparked excitement among fans, who quickly began calling for a soap comeback. One fan commented, “Now bring them both back to Corrie!” Another added, “You need to return to the street,” while a third wrote, “We need a Corrie reunion now.”

Helen first rose to fame as Rosie Webster on the ITV soap in 2000, making her debut at just nine years old. Over the years, she tackled a range of dramatic storylines, but twelve years after her Weatherfield debut, Helen announced she was leaving the show to explore other opportunities.

At the time, she told the Sunday Mirror that she “disliked” playing Rosie, who had earned a reputation for her “b*****ness.” Helen returned briefly in 2016, but following her second pregnancy, she confirmed she would once again step away from the programme.

Helen has now revealed that she feels ready to make a return to the soap, even hinting at a potential storyline for Rosie. She told the Mirror: “I would love to go back to Coronation Street. I’m at home in Bolton, which means I can work around the kids.”

Helen is a single mum to Matilda, 10, Delilah, seven, and Charlie, four, and co-parents them with her former fiancé Scott Sinclair.

She added: “A single mum with a real storyline, juggling two kids she leaves with Sally while stepping back into her iconic barmaid role at the Rovers.” Despite having appeared on shows like I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and Celebs Go Dating, Helen says she’s eager for a juicy Coronation Street storyline.

This isn’t the first time Helen has expressed her desire to reprise the role of Rosie. Speaking to The Sun, she said: “I’d love to go back to Coronation Street, but they just haven’t asked me. I live around the corner, but they haven’t reached out.

“I’d come back in a heartbeat if they asked me, but so far, they obviously haven’t.”

The publication also revealed that Helen had approached ITV executives to explore the possibility. A source told The Sun: “She’s had enough of reality TV and is keen for a regular role.

“Helen recently spoke with a top Corrie producer about returning, but at the moment, her character doesn’t fit into any ongoing storylines.” Last year, she added: “I’d absolutely love to go back to Coronation Street — I really, really would.”
